About
Bloxburg is a popular life simulation game on Roblox, heavily inspired by The Sims 4. It has long been my favorite game on the platform. With the recent UI overhaul, many players felt the new design lost its unique "Bloxburg" charm, becoming too generic. As a UI artist, I set out to reimagine the interface. Bringing a fresh look while preserving its original aesthetic.
1.1 Feature Improvements
The Phone
Following Bloxburg’s UI overhaul, many players found the phone interface overly complex and unintuitive. I redesigned it with a focus on clarity and usability, prioritizing essential features like Home, Work, and Avatar.
To enhance the experience, I introduced GPS for navigation, Camera for capturing moments, and Messages for communication and immersive role-play.
The visual style, inspired by The Sims 4, was simplified to blend naturally with the game and feel more familiar.
In-game HUD
As part of Bloxburg’s UI overhaul series, the in-game HUD was the first major change.
Many players found it generic, boring, and unintuitive, with some preferring the old version. Instead of redesigning it completely, I kept the layout and enhanced its visual appeal to retain familiarity while improving clarity.
I also reworked the Daily Objectives by placing them in a tab, making them less intrusive for players who weren’t interested.
1.2 Conclusion
This project was a passion-driven attempt to restore Bloxburg’s charm while pushing for better usability. I wanted to honor the game’s original identity while giving players an interface that feels modern, intuitive, and true to what made Bloxburg special.
